NintendObs Thinks: Running down what's already brewing for Nintendo Switch this 2022.
From Pokémon Legends Arceus to the Sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.
I finished my last NintendObs Thinks of 2021 saying, and I quote: “I can’t help but be afraid of how epic 2022 is going to be with Nintendo’s comeback if their partners, conjointly, manage to still output such quality titles.” Well, in the first NintendObs Thinks of 2022, I will tell you exactly what it is I was talking about on the Nintendo side of the equation. 2021 lacked a whole lot of Nintendo, and in genres across action role-playing game, tactical role-playing games, action-adventure, shooter and action games, 2022 shows to have too much of Nintendo already.
All of the titles I’m going to mention here are actually Nintendo Switch retail exclusives, games that cannot or will not at that time be playable on any other device. That’s a guarantee for every game on this list being published by Nintendo across all of their regions, but also for that one game being published by Ubisoft for the very reason that Mario stars in it. The only title I’m 100% sure will end up on Steam is the one Square Enix publishes in Japan even though Nintendo does the honors in the West, which I’ll be discussing shortly.
Let’s not forget either that 2022 has just begun and many more games are yet to have even been announced. Remember that Metroid Dread did not get announced until E3 2021 and eventually became Nintendo’s most important release of that year. The same could apply here, and I already cannot wait for the first Nintendo Direct of 2022 presumably this month or the one after to see the reveal of the next new title we ought to be hyped for. But before that, here are eight games already worth looking forward to in the wakening of 2022.
