Reflections on my The OneUps interview.
It is true they really deserve a lot more views. YouTube is doing it wrong.
NintendObs Daily. Monday, July 26.
Eight days ago the Sunday before last I published an interview I conducted with Mustin from The OneUps, videogame cover band extraordinaire. Our conversation is now only accessible to paid subscribers after being available to all for a week in line with my recent policy of making everything free for a limited time as long as you show up everyday on the website to check out what's new. I really appreciated this interview, with my favorite VGM cover act no less. Not only did Mustin gave me all of that background on the creation of the band, its ups and downs (obvious pun here), he also provided an extensive biography of the videogame cover scene from when and before The OneUps started roughly 20 years ago, long before YouTube was cool, actually long before YouTube existed. They've been around for two decades and they're still making awesome music, not to mention all of the projects each of the members are working on right now which Mustin detailed at the end.
