Now Pokémon shows gameplay for Pokémon Legends Arceus.
…Got it. In a sense, Pokémon Legends Arceus is to Pokémon IX what the Pokémon Let's Go games were to Pokémon VIII.
NintendObs Daily. Thursday, January 13.
Can you believe Pokémon Legends Arceus was revealed nearly a year ago for Pokémon Day 2021 and it's now, just one day more than two weeks before launch, that The Pokémon Company finally reveals a sizeable amount of gameplay segments for their upcoming title. Pokémon Legends Arceus launches on January 28, but let's get straight into it. Pokémon in the wild have three ways to react to you: they either ignore you, fear you, or challenge you. The whole reason it's best to sneak up on them for a catch is because once they notice you, wild Pokémon deflect every Poké Ball you throw at them unless you do so in battle. Additionally, being sneaky can give you an extra action at the start of the battle. You don't necessarily need to combat though, since your Pokémon squad gains experience every catch you make. You can also use your Pokémon to retrieve items in situations where you can't on your own. There's a trading post where you can trade Pokémon with other players. Game progression is done through missions (story) and requests (sidequests). Agile Style and Strong Style moves cost more PP for giving you an edge in battle, but you're sure to need them against alpha Pokémon, which are equivalent to Unique Monsters or Tyrants in the Xenoblade series. Finally, Noble Pokémon have several combat health bars, and taking one down will allow you to throw balms at them as they're vulnerable.
