"There are no plans to announce a new model [for Nintendo Switch]."

NintendObs Daily. Wednesday, February 3.
Here's hoping this conversation is settled once and for all. As I reported Monday, Nintendo just had their investors meeting for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2021, and the accompanying Q&A with investors just got released yesterday though only in Japanese so far. The exact quote you see translated above goes like this in answer 8: "新しいモデルを発表する予定はありません。" Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa explains that in the context of Nintendo Switch's biggest holiday season in its fourth year after launch, and with the releases of the Nintendo Switch Mario Red & Blue Edition and the Nintendo Switch Monster Hunter Rise Edition this February and in March respectively, Nintendo sees (rightfully I might add) no economic interest in producing a new model of the Nintendo Switch. So no, there is no such thing as a "Switch Pro" in the works. Gaming media, and you Google pushing their articles, please, you all need to stop, even my own brother preaches your fantasies in my ears as if they were gospel.
