Nintendo Switch outsells Nintendo 3DS. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains #1.
As of December 31, the Switch stands at 79.87 million units sold.
NintendObs Daily. Monday, February 1.
As I mentioned in the previous NintendObs Daily, the latest Nintendo numbers are in today, and they're explosive. As of December 31, the Switch stands at 79.87 million units sold, which surpasses the 75.94 million units for Nintendo 3DS. That's 24.10 million units added in nine months, propelled by the one and only Animal Crossing New Horizons and the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary. The latter, as I also surmised in the last entry, is probably responsible for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's total of 33.41 million units sold, a mere two millions more than Animal Crossing New Horizons's 31.18 million units sold, and on track to outsell even Mario Kart Wii and its 37.38 million copies.
