It's the reality you probably never saw coming, but I did. The Japanese console sales for the week before are in via Famitsu, showing Nintendo Switch — OLED Model at a total of 1,559,443 units in the territory versus a grand total of 1,539,407 for the entire PlayStation 5 family of systems. Don't forget that PlayStation 5 released in November of 2020 while Nintendo Switch — OLED Model launched in October 2021, thus catching a one-year gap in only six months. As a matter of fact, Nintendo Switch OLED in Japan continues to outsell Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite combined week after week in spite of its higher pricepoint, no doubt leading to the situation we're observing today.
