Nintendo strengthens their processes with the purchase of SRD.
in an era of more and more complicated games, Nintendo seeks better integration with their most trusted allies.
NintendObs Daily. Thursday, February 24.
Yesterday I mentioned an alliance Nintendo made when they alluded to code name "NX" for the first time, and today we're going one step above in the domain of acquisitions. Nintendo just announced their purchase of SRD, a company that has been working closely with them from the Nintendo Entertainment System with Donkey Kong Jr. to the Nintendo Switch with Game Builder Garage. In fact, looking at Iwata Asks segments with some of SRD's key members, they're the ones who came up with the Hammer Bros. in Super Mario Bros. games, introduced fishing in The Legend of Zelda with Link's Awakening, tested the jumping mechanism for Super Mario Bros. and were in charge of the camera and the bosses in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.
