My thoughts on the Triangle Strategy Prologue Demo.
A proficient and sincere love letter to the genre.
NintendObs Daily. Monday, February 14.
You might have seen it towards the end of last week's Nintendo Direct, Triangle Strategy, a modern take on Square Enix's own Final Fantasy Tactics titles of yesteryear, just released its Prologue Demo giving you the opportunity to play the first three chapters of the full game. In fact, true to its ambition of branching paths dependent on your convictions, chapter 3 follows either of two scenarios based on your decisions, and needless to say your progression can be carried over to the full game. Equally important, right after the Direct the Final Trailer for Triangle Strategy was released, so epic in effect it gave me goosebumps. It's crazy what can be done in a retro style with the means of today, both in terms of visuals and, from the two demos I've played, of potential for crafting your own story.
