It’s over. NintendObs Daily has come to an end. I’m moving on to a coding bootcamp starting tomorrow and therefore cannot afford to run the newsletter and to participate in the program at the same time. I’m sure going to miss writing about videogames everyday. Actually, I definitely did over the past two weeks with the Nintendo Direct mini Partner Showcase and the first ever special edition of Nintendo Switch – OLED Model for Splatoon 3, just to name the recent two major events that, I must add, aligned exactly with what I was saying about Nintendo’s plans for Nintendo Direct this month, and with their plans to leverage the OLED as the platform of the second half of the Nintendo Switch lifecycle.
One thing I’m not going to miss however, is all the drama, the rumors and the nonsense that surrounds sheer videogame news and which, to be fair, were the very antagonists I seeked to combat when I first started. Well, what can I say, I lost on that front. But hey, if even Elon Musk couldn’t solve this in his field, maybe it was a fool’s errand to try in the first place. Not for my sanity though, and not for my gaming experience. At least now I know where to look for actual information regarding Nintendo and their partners, and I hope that through my work, now you do too.
Eight years. From WordPress.com on March 8, 2014 to Substack on July 10, 2022. From surviving the Wii U era to enjoying that of Nintendo Switch with an even brighter future for Nintendo assuredly on the horizon. The truth is however, at the scope of a lifetime, this is the end of a battle and not the war. I’m going to capitalize all that time I’ve spend working on websites and a newsletter I’ve both made on my own in order to learn the web development that empowered it all, so that one day I may come back and create a NintendObs ecosystem merging news, analysis, community and even marketplace on a single platform of my team’s own making.
