It's Dragon Quest Day.
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, Dragon Quest Treasures and Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate.
NintendObs Daily. Thursday, May 27.
I know the day is still young, I know Sonic has an announcement too later today, and who knows when Nintendo will finally reveal their E3 plans and schedule. But this May 27 marks the 35th anniversary of the Dragon Quest series, and a livestream with the creator of the franchise, Yuji Horii, was just aired in Japan today to commemorate. Six titles were announced, and though platforms have yet to have clearly been specified, three in particular show promise to launch on Nintendo and in the West: Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, Dragon Quest Treasures and Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake aims for "a simultaneous worldwide release on home consoles." Dragon Quest Treasures has platforms and release dates undefined but works towards a "worldwide simultaneous release." And the same goes for Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate.
