Celebrating Hades winning Game of the Year at GDC 2021.
It's a good thing Nintendo didn't sleep on them for that timed console exclusivity.
NintendObs Daily. Friday, July 23.
Honestly, it was well deserved. Animal Crossing New Horizons was among the nominees, which arguably is the most impactful game of 2020, but having played both, even though the two of them really push the boundaries of what a developer can do for immersiveness in terms of game design, Hades is the game that went the extra, extra mile. I got 165 hours into this title and I still find new contextual voice lines after way more than a hundred runs and nearing a hundred wins. The repetitiveness of the format is entirely compensated by an RNG done right and a highly customizable difficulty that dwarfs your confidence whenever you dare give it the chance. Not to mention over twenty weapons, countless Boons from a dozen of providers, probably thirty Keepsakes to choose from and five Summons to unlock.
