It's official: Chris Meledandri of Minions fame has joined Nintendo.
It shows how much importance Nintendo will be giving to its visual contents, hopefully including videogame trailers.
NintendObs Daily. Tuesday, June 29.
Nintendo's 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders was just held today, as previously scheduled. Also as previously planned, former CEO and Founder of Illumination Chris Meledandri is now part of Nintendo, elected as one of the six main Directors along with Shuntaro Furukawa (the big boss), Shigeru Miyamoto (you know who he is), Shinya Takahashi (current Direct presenter extraordinaire), Ko Shiota (...I don't know who that is) and Satoru Shibata (surviving member of the Double Satorus). Straight out of the gate, one of the two producers of the upcoming Super Mario movie — the other being Shigeru Miyamoto himself — is now among the six most important people at the 132-year-old Japanese firm. This can only mean good things for the Super Mario movie, but more than anything it shows how much importance Nintendo will be giving to its visual contents, hopefully including videogame trailers, in the coming months and years.
